Block & Company Quarterly Review - 2nd Quarter 2025
July 14, 2025
Letter from President David M. BlockKansas City is on a remarkable upswing, fueled in large part by the excitement surrounding the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Projected to draw upwards of 600,000 visitors over a 60-day period, this global event presents tremendous opportunities for Kansas City - and for Block & Company's tenants, including our restaurants, retailers, and hotels, who stand to benefit directly from the influx of new guests to our city.
Beyond the World Cup, Kansas City continues to see exciting momentum on multiple fronts. We're anticipating significant announcements about new destinations for the Chiefs and Royals, and there's steady growth in entertainment and restaurant venues throughout the metro - from north of the river to the Speedway area and in southern Johnson County and Lee's Summit. These market drivers are increasing the value of existing properties and fueling a wave of new construction across all commercial real estate segments, including multifamily, retail, restaurants, and industrial.
Amidst all this regional growth, Block & Company remains highly active in our core asset management and leasing operations, which have seen strong activity this quarter. We've also enjoyed company traditions and milestones - highlighted on the cover of this newsletter - including our annual Royals outing and the tremendous accomplishment of Bill Maas' induction into the Chiefs Hall of Fame.
We're also proud to welcome new employees who have joined the Block & Company family this quarter. Thank you to them - and to all of our dedicated team members who help keep Block & Company among the top commercial real estate firms in the region.
As always, we remain deeply committed to supporting our community through charitable activities, staying true to our philosophy of working local, hiring local, and giving back to greater Kansas City.
Wishing everyone a wonderful summer, and thank you for being part of our ongoing success!
